Overview
Filters allow you to include or exclude specific subsets of data when you search for new Contacts or Accounts in Apollo. This helps you to better segment and personalize your team's approach so that you can find and engage with the right contacts at the right time.
You can access many types of Filters in Apollo.
Apollo divides all Filters into 6 main categories: Settings Filters, Person Info, Company Info, Engagement Activity, and Miscellaneous.

Access Engagement Activity Filters
Launch Apollo, click Search in the navbar, and then click People or Companies.
Click Show More Filters.
In the Filters modal, scroll to the Filters related to Engagement Activity.
Refer to the sections below for further details about each Filter. When you have selected all the Filters you need and are ready to search, click Apply Filters.
Please note, the Filters below are split into 2 sections—the Engagement Activity Filters available on the People page and the Engagement Activity Filters available on the Companies page.
Engagement Activity People Filters
Refer to the sections below to find out more about how to access and search with Engagement Activity Filters from the People page.
Sequence
You can filter by Sequence. This means that you can specifically target every contact that belongs to a particular sequence in Apollo.
For more information about Sequences, refer to the "Sequences Overview" article.
To filter by Sequence, expand the accordion.
Click the Include Sequences drop-down and then click the Sequence(s) that you want to add.
To make the search more specific, click the appropriate option:
- Click Include contacts in ANY sequences above if you want to find contacts that exist in any of the sequences you added, regardless of their status—Active, Paused, Finished, Bounced, or Not Sent. This is an OR Search.
- Click Include ACTIVE contacts in ANY sequences above if you want to filter contacts that are currently part of a sequence. If you enable this option, you cannot view any contacts with a Paused, Finished, Bounced, or Not Sent status.
- Click Include contacts SIMULTANEOUSLY ACTIVE in ALL sequences above if you only want to filter contacts that are currently active in every one of the sequences you selected. This is an AND Search.
Click Show Advanced to expand the accordion. Then click the Exclude Sequences drop-down to select the Sequence(s) that you want to exclude.
To make the search more specific, click the appropriate option:
- Click Exclude contacts in ANY sequences above if you want to exclude contacts that exist in any of the sequences you added, regardless of their status—Active, Paused, Finished, Bounced, or Not Sent. This is an OR Search.
- Click Exclude ACTIVE contacts in ANY sequences above if you want to exclude contacts that are currently part of a sequence. If you enable this option, you can only view contacts with a Paused, Finished, Bounced, or Not Sent status.
- Click Exclude contacts SIMULTANEOUSLY ACTIVE in ALL sequences above if you want to exclude any contacts that are currently active in every one of the sequences you selected. This is an AND Search.
To delete a Sequence from the search, click the Sequence name in the Search bar.
To delete all Sequences, click either X.
Last Activity
You can filter by Last Activity. This means that you can target the contacts with whom you last engaged or contacted within a specific timeframe or between certain dates.
To filter by Last Activity, expand the accordion.
Click the From and To fields and then select the appropriate dates on the calendar.
You can also filter by timeframe. Click the From and To fields and then, click the Timeframe tab.
Click the drop-down options to input the appropriate timeframe. Then, click Apply.
To delete the timeframe or dates, click X.
Email Sent
You can filter by Email Sent. This means that you can target the specific contacts to whom you have or have not sent emails.
To filter by Email Sent, expand the accordion.
Click the Yes radio button if you want to target the contacts to whom you have previously sent emails.
Click the No radio button if you want to target the contacts to whom you have not sent any emails.
To delete the Email Sent filter from a search, click the X.
Email Opened
You can filter by Email Opened. This means that you can target the specific contacts that have or have not opened your emails.
To filter by Email Opened, expand the accordion.
Click the drop-down and select Yes if you want to target the contacts who have previously opened your emails.
Click the drop-down and select No if you want to target the contacts who have not opened any of your emails.
To filter by the number of times that a contact has opened your emails, click the up and down arrows and set the minimum amount. You can also manually enter an amount.
If you want to filter by the dates in which a contact last opened your emails, click the From and To fields and use the calendar to select a date range.
You can also select the Timeframe tab and use the drop-down arrows to select the exact timeframe in which a contact opened your emails. Then, click Apply.
To delete all the Email Opened filters from a search, click the X.
Email Clicked
You can filter by Email Clicked. This means that you can target the specific contacts that have or have not clicked any of the links in your emails.
To filter by Email Clicked, expand the accordion.
Click the drop-down and select Yes if you want to target the contacts who have clicked any of the links in your emails.
Click the drop-down and select No if you want to target the contacts who have not clicked any of the links in your emails.
To filter by the number of times that a contact has clicked on the links in your emails, click the up and down arrows and set the minimum amount. You can also manually enter an amount.
If you want to filter by the dates in which a contact last clicked on any links in your emails, click the From and To fields and use the calendar to select a date range.
You can also select the Timeframe tab and use the drop-down arrows to select the exact timeframe in which a contact clicked the links in your emails. Then, click Apply.
To delete all the Email Clicked filters from a search, click the X.
Email Replied
You can filter by Email Replied. This means that you can target the specific contacts who have or have not replied to your emails.
To filter by Email Replied, expand the accordion.
Click the Yes radio button if you want to target the contacts who have replied to your emails.
Click the No radio button if you want to target the contacts who have not replied to your emails.
To delete the Email Replied filter from a search, click the X.
Email Meeting Set
You can filter by Email Meeting Set. This means that you can target the specific contacts in the "interested" stage, with whom you have or have not set a meeting.
To filter by Email Meeting Set, expand the accordion.
Click the Yes radio button if you want to target the contacts with whom you have set a meeting.
Click the No radio button if you want to target the contacts with whom you have not set a meeting.
To delete the Email Meeting Set filter from a search, click the X.
Email Bounced
You can filter by Email Bounced. This means that you can target the specific contacts who have or have not received your emails due to email bounce.
To filter by Email Bounced, expand the accordion.
Click the Yes radio button if you want to target the email addresses from which your emails have bounced.
Click the No radio button if you want to target the email addresses from which your emails have not bounced.
To delete the Email Bounced filter from a search, click the X.
Email Unsubscribed
You can filter by Email Unsubscribed. This means that you can target the specific contacts who have or have not unsubscribed from your emails.
To filter by Email Unsubscribed, expand the accordion.
Click the Yes radio button if you want to target the contacts who have unsubscribed from your emails.
Click the No radio button if you want to target the contacts who have not unsubscribed from your emails.
To delete the Email Unsubscribed filter from a search, click the X.
Email Spam Blocked
You can filter by Email Spam Blocked. This means that you can target the specific contacts who have or have not flagged your email as Spam.
To filter by Email Sent, expand the accordion.
Click the Yes radio button if you want to target the specific contacts who have not received your emails due to Spam Blocking.
Click the No radio button if you want to target the specific contacts who have received your emails without trouble.
To delete the Email Spam Blocked filter from a search, click the X.
Email Auto-Responder
You can filter by Email Auto-Responder. This means that you can target the specific contacts from whom you have or have not received an auto-response message.
To filter by Email Auto-Responder, expand the accordion.
Click the Yes radio button if you want to target the contacts that have sent you an auto-response message.
Click the No radio button if you want to target the contacts that have not sent you an auto-response message.
To delete the Email Auto-Responder filter from a search, click the X.
Engagement Activity Company Filters
Refer to the sections below to find out more about how to access and search with Engagement Activity Filters from the Companies page.
Sequence
You can filter by Sequence. This means that you can specifically target the accounts with contacts that are already included in an Apollo sequence.

To filter by Sequence, expand the accordion.
Click the Include Sequences drop-down and then click the Sequence(s) that you want to add.
Click Show Advanced to expand the accordion. Then click the Exclude Sequences drop-down to select the Sequence(s) that you want to exclude.
To delete a Sequence from the search, click the Sequence name in the Search bar.
To delete all Sequences, click either X.
Account Engagement
You can filter by Account Engagement. This means that you can target the accounts that you have contacted within a certain timeframe or a specific number of times.
To filter by Account Engagement, expand the accordion.
If you want to filter by the dates in which you last contacted an account, click the From and To fields and use the calendar to select a date range.
For further specificity, you can select the Timeframe tab and use the drop-down arrows to select the exact timeframe. Then, click Apply.
To filter by the number of contacts, click the up and down arrows and set the minimum amount.
To delete all Account Engagement filters, click the X.
