Overview
Buying Intent helps you engage with the right prospects from the right companies at the right time. With timely insights into the online intent-to-buy behaviors of your ideal customer profiles, buying intent allows you to easily identify the solutions and products that your target markets are actively researching online.
You can leverage buying intent in Apollo to prospect smarter. When the individuals within a company search with intent for topics related to your product or service, this fires an intent signal. Apollo ranks these companies by intent score. This means that you can easily identify and target the right companies that are actively searching for a solution that your company provides.
Refer to the sections below for more information about how to configure the settings, leverage buying intent when prospecting in Apollo, and if you are on a Professional or Custom plan, filter by intent topics, intent scores, and time range.
Configure the Intent Topic Settings
Launch Apollo, click Settings, and then click Buying Intent.
Use the Search bar or scroll through the different categories available and click the checkbox(es) next to the topic(s) of your choice.
Please note, if you are on a Free plan, Apollo allows you to select 1 of these intent topics at no extra cost to your plan. If you are on a Basic plan, you can select up to 6 intent topics at no extra cost. If you are on a Pro plan, you can select up to 6 intent topics and can filter by intent topics, intent score, and time range. If you are on a Custom plan, the world is your oyster! When you click a checkbox, Apollo displays the intent topic on the right-hand side of your screen.
To delete a topic from your selected list, click the checkbox again or click the x next to the name of the topic on the right.
Please note, each intent topic is not an exact match. Topics are aggregated from up to 25 keywords and up to 25 competitors. Try adding similar relevant intent topics to your list too.
When you have chosen your topic(s), click Save Intent Topics.
Remember to choose your topics carefully. Apollo aims to provide you with the most accurate intent signals possible. Therefore, when you select and save your preferred topic(s), you cannot change the intent topic settings for 24 hours. Please also note that your entire team can access and update the intent topic settings.
You have now selected your intent topic(s).
