Create and Edit Sequence Sending Schedules

Overview

Use sequence schedules to control the day and time that you send out emails. Customize your schedule to:

  • Adjust to a contact's local time.
  • Optimize the possibility of positive contact.
  • Adjust the wait time between steps.

Refer to the following sections to create and edit sequence schedules and adjust the wait time between the steps in a sequence.

Create a Sequence Schedule

To create a sequence schedule:

  1. Launch Apollo and click Settings Sequences. Then, go to the Schedules tab.
  2. Click New Schedule. New Schedule
  3. Enter a name for your schedule. Schedule Name
  4. Choose a time zone on which to base your schedule. Time Zone
  5. (Recommended) Click the local time zone checkbox to enable or disable the use of a contact's local time zone if location data is available. Local Time Zone
  6. Click the national holidays checkbox if you want to skip sending emails on US national holidays. Holidays
  7. Click Create to move on to the next step.
  8. Adjust the blocks of time when you can send emails via a mailbox connected to Apollo. Click Add Time Block for each day that you want to add a sending window. Sending Window
  9. Use the drop-downs to select the time block. Time Frame
  10. Click Add Time Block to save your schedule. Repeat this process for each day. Add Time Block
  11. Then, click Save. Save
 
Edit a Schedule

You can return to this process and edit the sending windows in your sequence schedule at any time.

Change the Schedule for a Sequence

To change a sequence's schedule:

  1. Launch Apollo and click Sequences.
  2. Click a sequence to change its schedule. Select Sequence
  3. Click Settings. Sequence Settings
  4. Click the Schedule drop-down to choose a schedule. Choose Schedule
  5. Click Save Changes. Save Changes

Adjust Wait Time Between Sequence Steps

To adjust the wait time between steps in a sequence:

  1. Launch Apollo and click Sequences.
  2. Click a sequence to edit the wait time between its steps. Click Sequence
  3. Click the Additional options (...) button on the right of a step. Then, click Edit. Edit Wait Time
  4. Use the When to start this step options to update the amount of wait time between steps. Wait For Drop-down Options If you select days, Apollo counts from the days in your sequence schedule, not days in general. The wait counter starts on the day that Apollo completes a given step. If the wait time is 3 days, the next step fires on the third day after the day of the completed step.
  5. Click Continue.

You have now updated the wait time between steps in a sequence.
