Overview
If you set up the Salesforce integration and deals on Apollo, Apollo syncs data between your Salesforce opportunities and Apollo deals. As a best practice, you should ensure that your Salesforce opportunity stages and Apollo deal stages are mapped appropriately.
Check out the following section to map Apollo deals to Salesforce opportunities.
Map Deal Stages
If you set up deals in Apollo before you connect the Salesforce integration, the integration guides you through the data sync process between opportunities and deals, and Apollo automatically creates a pipeline using the same stages as your Salesforce opportunity stages. Review these stages to ensure they meet your needs.
If you add or edit stages in the future, perform the changes in Salesforce and Apollo automatically reflects those changes in your deals.
If you integrated Salesforce with your Apollo account, Apollo automatically deactivates the creation of new deal stages. Apollo does this because it isn't possible to create or update opportunity stages through the Salesforce API. If you delete opportunity stages in Salesforce, the corresponding deals stages in Apollo are also deleted unless the stage has an existing opportunity. If you need to track deleted stages, check the activity log in Apollo.
You have now mapped your Salesforce opportunity stages to your Apollo deal stages.
Map Deal Fields
To map deal fields:
- Launch Apollo and click Settings > Integrations, then click Salesforce.
- Click Deals > Fields.
- Apollo automatically maps recognized fields.
- To map more fields, click Add field mapping.
- Click the Apollo fields you want to map.
- Then click Add field.
- Map the fields between Apollo and Salesforce.
- When finished, click Save.
You have now mapped Apollo deals fields to Salesforce opportunity fields.
If you need a new field for mapping purposes, create a custom deal field in Apollo to match the Salesforce field.
Turn Off Data Sync
If you don't want data between Salesforce and Apollo deals to sync automatically, turn off data sync.
To turn off data sync:
- Launch Apollo and click Settings > Integrations.
- Click Deals.
- Uncheck Sync Salesforce deals with Apollo.
- When finished, click Save.
Next Steps
Here are a few next steps to help your team get even more out of the Salesforce integration.
| Important Information About the Salesforce Integration | Make sure your settings stay solid by reviewing integration caveats and sync behaviors so you don’t get caught off-guard by duplicate records or overwrite conflicts. |
|---|---|
| Integrate Salesforce with Apollo | Kick off your setup by connecting Salesforce and Apollo to activate two-way syncing of contacts, leads, accounts, and deals. |
| Link Custom Salesforce Fields to Custom Apollo Fields | Ensure any unique data your team uses stays in sync by mapping custom fields across both platforms so no critical data gets lost. |
| Configure Salesforce Pull Settings | Keep your Apollo data fresh by adjusting pull settings to control exactly which Salesforce records flow into Apollo and how often they sync. |
| Configure Salesforce Push Settings | Control outbound data flow by setting push rules so Apollo updates Salesforce with the right contacts, activities, and deal changes at the right time. |
