Overview
If you're tracking website visitors, you receive data related to the companies that visit your domains. You can view and use this data in several ways, including:
- Viewing activity snapshots for individual company visits.
- Viewing an analytics dashboard for data across visiting companies.
- Building workflows using website visitors data as a filter.
The following sections show how to view and use website visitors data.
Website visitor data may take up to 7 days to appear in your account.
Find Website Visitors
Once visitor data is available in Apollo, you can use the data to target companies based on the recency and volume of visitors to your tracked websites.
To identify companies that visited your website:
- Click Website Visitors.
- Apollo automatically filters by your website visitors by your active domains, for the past 90 days. Click the Website visitors filter. You can change the filter by the time period, intent level, domains, page view count, and first-time visits within the time period.
- Apply any other filters that you want to add to your search. Apollo updates the search results as you change the filters.
Alternatively, you can filter your Apollo search results by website visitor data:
- Launch Apollo and click Search > Companies.
- Click Show filters and select the website visitors filter. You can filter by the time period when website visits occurred, the level of intent, the specific domains and web pages visited, or the page view count.
- Apply any other filters that you want to add to your search. Apollo updates the search results as you change the filters.
You've now filtered your company search using website visitors data.
To save the your search, click Save Search. You can also set up alerts for whenever new records match your saved search.
The number of prospects you can view with the website visitor filter depends on your Apollo plan. If you need to view more website visitors, upgrade your plan. If you have questions about upgrading, reach out to the Apollo sales team.
View Website Visitor Activity Snapshot
To review visitor data for a specific company, go to a company page, then hover on the bar graph icon next to a company name.
The Website Visits pop-up shows visitor data for the company, including the total number of visitors from the company to your added domains, the most visited pages, and the number of visits to each page.
You can also view visitor data for a company by hovering over the same bar graph icon in search results.
If a company has not visited your tracked domains, the icon will not appear.
Apollo does not collect details such as names and email addresses for individual visitors to your website. Visitors data includes contacts based on activity generated by accounts, so an individual contact might or might not have visited your websites.
View Website Visitor Dashboard
To review high-level website visitor data, launch Apollo and click Website Visitors, then click Analytics. The dashboard provides data on the following:
- Website Visitor Daily Trend
- Top 10 pages
- Top 10 company visitors
Build Workflows Using Website Visitors Filters
Use website visitors data as a filter for your workflow to target companies that have visited your websites. When creating workflows, either use a trigger event that targets companies or set the target in the If section to Companies. Then, add or edit the filters in the If section.
Click the Website Visitors drop-down. From here, you can filter by the time period when the website visits occurred, the level of intent, and the visited domains. Open the Advanced drop-down to filter by specific URLs and number of page views. To filter by a URL, you must type the URL, then press Enter to add it.
Save your filter selections, then finish building your workflow.
Sort Companies by Visit Dates and Number of Visitors
If you've already filtered your company searches by website visitors, you can sort the search results by the most recent date someone from the company visited your websites, and you can view how many visits each company generated in total.
To sort based on these factors, start by editing your table view:
- Click + to add a table column. Then, select Website last visit date and Number of total website visitors to add them as columns.
- With the columns added, click the column header for Website last visit date to view the sorting options. Then, click Sort descending to view companies that visited most recently.
- The Number of total website visitors column shows the total count of visitors. If you hover your mouse on the icon within the column, you can view more information about visitors, including the number of unique visitors from the company.
