Overview
Your sales teams have ambitious goals to meet, whether scheduling a number of meetings or sending an amount of emails to prospects. Goals on Apollo help you create, track, and meet your team's goals.
You can set individual goals for yourself, or wider goals for your entire team, and Apollo shows how you're progressing.

Create a Goal
Access to goals depends on your Apollo plan. If you need access, upgrade your plan. If you have questions about upgrading, reach out to the Apollo sales team.
You can create goals from scratch or with goal templates.
Use a Goal Template
Goal templates are the quickest and easiest way to create goals for yourself and your team.
To create a goal with a template:
- Launch Apollo and click Analytics > Goals.
- Click Create goal > Start with a template. Then choose from one of the templates:
- Email open rate: Create an email open rate goal.
- Email reply rate: Create an email reply rate goal.
- Email sent: Create an attainment goal for the number of emails sent.
- Forecasted revenue: Create an attainment goal for the total forecasted revenue.
- Quota attainment: Create an attainment goal for closed-won quota.
- Edit the goal name if needed, and assign it to users. Select a timeframe for the goal, like monthly or quarterly. You can also organize your goals by folders.
- Click Next, then edit the metrics or filters used for the goal.

- Set a target goal, and click Next.
- (Optional) Toggle to create goal alerts via email or slack. You can receive alerts for goal progress, goal met, or goal off track. Choose the alert type and set a frequency.
- When finished, click Create goal.
You have now created a goal with a template. Review team progress towards the goal over time.
Create a Custom Goal
Custom goals allow you to set unique targets to track the metrics most important to your team.
To create a goal from scratch:
- Launch Apollo and click Analytics > Goals.
- Click Create goal > Create from scratch.
- Enter a goal name, and assign the goal to users. Select a timeframe for the goal, like monthly or quarterly. You can also organize your goals by folders.
- Click Next, then edit the metrics and filters used for the goal.

- Set a target goal, and click Next.
- (Optional) Toggle to create goal alerts via email or slack. You can receive alerts for goal progress, goal met, or goal off track. Choose the alert type and set a frequency.
- When finished, click Create goal.
You have now created a custom goal. Review team progress towards the goal over time.
Track Goal Progress
Now that you've set goals for yourself and your team, you can track progress towards the goal.
To track goal progress:
- Launch Apollo and click Analytics > Goals.
- Review team goal progress. Apollo shares actual performance vs. goal performance for each goal. For more details, click the goal name.
- Apollo shares a custom report. Update the date range for the report, then click Run. Apollo analyzes the progress each team member is making toward the goal.
You have now tracked goal progress.

Update a Goal
Have members of your team changed?
Is your team smashing their goals and you want to aim higher? You can update goals at any time.
To edit an existing goal:
- Launch Apollo and click Analytics > Goals.
- Click ... beside the goal > Edit goal.
- Edit the goal setup. You can add users, edit metrics, or set higher attainment goals.

- When finished, click Save changes.
You have now updated a goal.
Archive a Goal
You may need to archive goals over time as business needs change. Archiving a goal removes it from the goals dashboard, stops any goal notifications or alerts, and ends progress tracking.
To archive a goal:
- Launch Apollo and click Analytics > Goals.
- Check one or more goals > Archive.
- Click Archive to confirm.
You have now archived a goal.
You can unarchive goals if you made a mistake. Navigate to Analytics > Goals, and set the status filter to archived. Then check your goal and click Unarchive.
(Optional) Map CRM Stages
You can map CRM stages to track any meetings set goals.
You need to integrate your CRM with Apollo to use this feature. Check out Connect Apollo to Salesforce or Connect Apollo to HubSpot to get started.
To map CRM stages to goals:
- Launch Apollo and click Settings > Analytics > Goals.
- Check each stage you want to map from your CRM to Apollo for meetings set goals. Then, click Save.
You have now mapped CRM stages to goals.
