Overview
Filters allow you to include or exclude specific subsets of data when you search for new Contacts or Accounts in Apollo. This helps you to better segment and personalize your team's approach so you can find and engage with the right contacts at the right time.
You can access many types of Filters in Apollo.
Apollo divides all Filters into 6 main categories: Settings Filters, Person Info, Company Info, Engagement Activity, Created Source, and Miscellaneous.
Refer to the sections below to find out more about how to access and search with person info Filters.
Access Person Info Filters
Please note, Person Info Filters are only available from the People search page. You cannot access the Filters mentioned below from the Companies search page.
Launch Apollo, click Search in the navbar, and then click People.
Click Show More Filters.
In the Filters modal, scroll to the 6 Filters related to Person Info.
Refer to the sections below for further details about each Filter. When you have selected all the Filters you need and are ready to search, click Apply Filters.
Name
You can filter by contact full name, first name, or last name. This means that you can narrow your search down to the specific individuals that you want to find or to any popular names that you would like to target.
To filter by name, expand the Name accordion and type the contact name in the Search bar.
To delete a name from the Filter, click the Name accordion once more. Then, click either X to remove the filter.
Job Titles
You can filter by the job titles of your ideal contacts. This means that you can segment a search to include only the most relevant positions for your campaign(s).
To filter by job title, expand the Job Title accordion.
There are several ways to filter by job title.
If you want to search for specific roles, you can use the Search bar to type in the job titles that you want to include in a search.
Click the Include past job titles checkbox if you want to view contacts who have previously worked in a particular role. Then, use the past job titles Search bar to type in the past job titles that you want to include in the search.
Click Advanced Search for further options.
If you want to filter by management level titles, expand the accordion for Management Level. Then, enable the specific roles that you want to search with the checkboxes.
If you want to filter by departments or functions, expand the accordion for Departments and Job Function. You can use the Search bar or enable the specific roles that you want to search with the checkboxes.
Click + next to a checkbox to increase the level of specificity. Enable as many fields as needed with the checkboxes.
Click the Create New Persona button to access the New Persona modal from this filter. If you want to find out more about personas, hover your mouse over the What's a Persona? text.
Persona
You can filter by your ideal personas. This means that you can include the filters that group together key characteristics of the ideal Contacts and Accounts that you want to target in a search.
To add an existing persona to a search, expand the Persona accordion and then enable the Personas that you want to include with the checkboxes.
To create a new persona, click + Persona.
Then, use the drop-down fields to fill in the appropriate information and click Save Persona.
The new Persona appears in the checklist. If you want to add this persona to a search, enable it with the checkbox.
To edit an existing Persona before you add it to a search, hover your mouse over the Persona and click Edit.
If you want to review or edit several existing Personas before you add them to a particular search, click All Personas.

Location
You can filter by location. This means that you can specify which cities, states, countries, or zip codes you want to include in a search.
To add location filters, expand the Location accordion and then click the Contact or Account HQ tab.
Choose "Region" or "Zip Radius" and select the locations that you would like to include in the search.
Please note, the "Zip Radius" Filter is only available for Net New Records and not for Saved records.
Click Exclude Locations to select the locations that you do not want to include in the search.
Time Zone
You can filter by time zones. This means that you can search for Contacts and Accounts that are based in particular regions.
To do so, expand the Time Zone accordion, then click the Specify a Time Zone drop-down and choose a time zone.
To include additional Time Zones, click the Specify a Time Zone drop-down once more, and continue to select the time zones that you want to include in the search.
If you want to delete a specific time zone from the Filter, click on it. To remove all time zones from the Filter, click the X.
Job Change
Please note, this filter is only available to customers on a Custom Plan that includes the Job Change Alerts feature. For more information about how to upgrade your plan, please contact the Apollo Technical Support team.
You can filter according to job changes. This means that you can select contacts who have or have not changed jobs recently.
To do so, expand the Job Change accordion and enable the appropriate option with the checkboxes.

Total Years of Experience
You can filter by years of experience. This means that if you use Apollo to find and engage with potential candidates, you can search by the amount of experience a contact has accumulated in their respective field.
To apply the filter, expand the Total Years of Experience accordion.
Then, enter a minimum and a maximum number to set the range by which you want to filter.
Please note, you do not have to add both a minimum and a maximum. Add just one, add both, or add neither—you call the shots, my friend.
To remove the number of years from the Filter, delete the numbers or click the X.
Years in Current Role
You can filter by the number of years that a contact has been working in their current role. This is particularly useful if you use Apollo to find and engage with the contacts that fit the requirements of your ideal candidates.
To apply the filter, expand the Years in Current Role accordion.
Then, enter a minimum and a maximum number to set the range by which you want to filter.
To remove the number of years from the Filter, delete the numbers or click the X.
