Overview
When you save a contact, Apollo monitors for any updates to their data, like when they move from one company to another. Use job change alerts to enrich contacts when they've changed employment so your prospect list is always up-to-date with the correct information. You can even create new contacts based on job change alerts.
With updated contacts, you have better insight into your prospects' wants and needs, empowering your outreach and engagement.
Check out the following sections to learn how to update contacts based on job change alerts.
Enrich a Contact with Job Changes
Job change alerts appear beside saved contacts to indicate that a contact's employment record has changed. Update these contacts to maintain accurate prospect information.
Looking to only update the contacts you imported? Check out Access the Data Health Center.
To update a contact with a job change alert:
- Launch Apollo and click Data enrichment > Job change alerts.
- By default, Apollo shows the accounts you own that have contacts with job change alerts.
- Use search filters to narrow your results. Then check each contact you want to update, or use bulk selection to select all.
- Click Job change actions then choose how to update your selected contacts:
- Export job change data: Export the job change data to a .csv file.
- Create new contacts from job change: Create new contacts with new job information, but maintain outdated contacts and job information.
- Update existing contacts with job change: Update existing contacts with the new job information.
It costs 1 credit per contact to update contacts with job changes. Check out Apollo plans to see which plans include job change alerts and credit packages. If you need to purchase a credit package or upgrade your plan, manage your plan.
- If you create a new contact, select a stage to associate with the outdated contact. You can change the contact owner or add contacts to lists or sequences.
- If you update existing contacts, you can add contacts to a list or set a contact stage.
- When finished, click Create new contacts or Update contacts. Apollo updates your contacts with new job change information.
You've now updated a contact based on a job change alert.
Sync Job Change Updates to Salesforce
If you've integrated Salesforce with Apollo, you can sync contact job changes from Apollo to your Salesforce CRM.
Follow the steps outlined here to create a custom contact field. When creating your new custom field, map your custom field to Salesforce:
- Under Map to Salesforce, select a Salesforce contact field or Salesforce lead field to map to your custom Apollo field.
- (Optional) Use the checkbox to make your custom field read-only. When enabled, Apollo users can view custom field data pulled from Salesforce but can't make changes to the field values directly in Apollo.
The Salesforce fields available to you may differ from these examples. Contact a Salesforce admin at your company if you need help selecting a field.
- When you're done, click Save.
Your new custom field will sync new job information to Salesforce when you update a contact with a job change alert.
Apollo automatically syncs to Salesforce even if you deactivate the push new Apollo contacts to Salesforce setting.
