With Apollo connected to external AI, you can search for people and companies, enrich records, create or update contacts and accounts, add prospects to sequences, and analyze performance right from your AI workspace.

Apollo offers native integrations with ChatGPT and Claude, with additional third-party workflows available for Perplexity.

When you use Apollo with AI tools, Apollo remains your system of record, while your AI tool becomes the workspace where GTM gets done. Everything runs on your existing Apollo permissions, plan limits, and credit balance.

How It Works

Integrations built by Apollo for ChatGPT and Claude connect directly to your AI tool through a secure authorization flow. These integrations use MCP (Model Context Protocol), an emerging standard that allows AI tools to securely access real-world data and take action across external systems. You can access, enrich, and take action on your data in Apollo right from your AI tool using natural language conversations.

Some AI tools, like Perplexity, also connect to Apollo through third-party middleware. These setups rely on external platforms to pass data between Apollo and the AI tool, so the setup steps and overall experience may differ from integrations built directly by Apollo.

To connect Apollo to your favorite AI tool:

ChatGPT

Perplexity

 

Third-Party Territory

Perplexity connects to Apollo through third-party middleware built by Pipedream, requiring its external platform to pass data between Apollo and Perplexity. This integration is entirely optional and is managed outside of Apollo. Apollo doesn't build, control, or support this integration and isn't responsible for its setup, performance, or data handling.

To connect Apollo to Perplexity:

1. Launch Perplexity, and log in or create a new account.

 

Plan Check

Apollo doesn't require a specific plan to connect this integration, but integrations on Perplexity require a Perplexity Pro plan or higher.

2. Click your name, then click Connectors.

3. Search for Apollo, then select the Apollo integration.

4. Click Add connector.
5. Review the account permissions, and click Continue.
6. Next, paste an API key from Apollo, and click Continue.

 

Keys to the Castle

Don't have an API key? Generate one on Apollo at Settings > Integrations > Apollo API. Select each Apollo API endpoint you want Perplexity to have access to, or toggle Set as master key. Then paste the key on Perplexity. Learn more about creating and managing API keys on Apollo.

You have now connected Apollo to Perplexity, and you're ready to use the integration.

Use Apollo on Perplexity

To use Apollo on Perplexity:

1. Start a new chat and type @ then select Apollo.
2. Alternatively, click + > Connectors and sources, then check Apollo.io.

3. Type your request or goal in natural language.
4. Perplexity uses your Apollo account to take action based on your Apollo plan, your account permissions, credit availability, and the API endpoints you shared in the API key.

 

Credit Check

Depending on the action you take, this integration may use credits on Apollo. Review credit usage by action for Apollo API on the developer docs.
