Overview

Teams with large contact lists can keep contact data updated with CSV enrichment. Enrichment improves both people and company data, providing the most updated information on names, job titles, location, employment, company funding, and more. CSV enrichment is a great way to leverage the vast amount of data available in Apollo for the most effective outreach to your existing contacts.

Check out the following sections to use CSV enrichment for your people or company data.

1,000 Paths to Enrichment

You can upload a maximum CSV file size of 1,000 total rows. Files with more than 1,000 rows will cause an error. To work around this limitation, split large files into smaller separate CSVs that include fewer than 1,000 rows.

Check Your Plan

Check out Apollo plans to see which plans include CSV enrichment or credit packages. Your plan may limit the total number of record enrichments. Enrichment record limits don't reset at the end of your billing cycle. If you'd like to purchase a credit package or upgrade your plan, manage your plan.

CSV enrichment doesn't save contacts to Apollo, but you can separately upload a CSV of contacts.

To enrich a CSV of contacts:

  1. Launch Apollo and go to Data enrichment > CSV.
  2. Click Import CSV.

Import CSV button highlighted

  1. Under Enrich people, click Edit settings to configure the fields you want to enrich with Apollo data.

The Edit settings button is highlighted under enrich people

  1. By default, all fields are selected. Use the checkboxes to pick and choose which data you want to enrich without impacting your team's setup.
  2. When finished, click Save settings.

The Done button is highlighted on the CSV enrichment processing page

If you opted to enrich both emails and phone numbers, download your enriched CSV file to access new contact data for the following fields:

  • Email
  • Enriched Work Direct Phone
  • Enriched Home Phone
  • Enriched Mobile Phone
  • Enriched Other Phone
  • Enriched Corporate Phone

Timing is Key

CSV files downloaded prior to February 13, 2025, included data for one enriched mobile number. CSV files downloaded on or after February 13, 2025, include enriched data for all available phone number types.

To access additional phone number types for contacts enriched prior to February 13, you can re-upload your original CSV file. Be aware that re-enriching your CSV file requires you to consume additional credits.

When you get the enriched file, upload the contacts to Apollo to engage with them. You can enroll them in a sequence, add them to a list, reach out with the dialer, or book meetings to engage and win sales — all in Apollo.
